New Cycling Film

Former World Hour Record holder Graeme O'Bree is the subject of another cycling film which premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival in 2006: 'The Flying Scotman' . Graeme has had a somewhat colourful career which featured feats of brilliance intermingled with bouts of alcoholism & depression . Graeme is pictured above at the film launch.
Our connection with Graeme is that his hour record was ridden in the colours of the Leo Road Club our former club in the UK & his then manager Vic Haines was introduced to road cycling by my father Terry Lack.

BACK ONLINE

We are back online after our European trip . Lots of photos to follow of our trip to Eurobike , the World's best bike show & we will be seeing a few new exciting products arrive during the summer season.

The shop is crammed full of new 2007 model bikes from GIANT, Diamond Back & Apollo . GT is a little off the pace while the new distributor comes online but the bikes looked cool at Eurobike.

JULY 2006

Hi everybody the blog has been quiet for a month or so , but that doesn't means things haven't been rocking here at Ideal Cycles. The driest winter on record here in Perth plus the petrol prices & the 'surprise' that Australians are actually getting fatter has mean't a real spike in the use of bicycles!! That is actually using them rather than buying one of those K-Fart bikes & keeping it in the shed :))
